In 1986, my friend Chad replaced the Quiet Riot cassette blasting from the jambox taped to our friend’s handlebars with a cassette from a new group called the Beastie Boys. I instantly hated it, and we argued about it endlessly that summer as we rolled through the street of our neighborhood. Thanks for the music lesson, Cisco. RIP MCA.

Because you can’t sustain yourself on beer alone while at #gabf, stopped by @euclidhall on a recommendation from @starbar_denver. @brewrob and I sat at the chef’s counter and had a great time. The chef paired this chicken and waffles with foi gras with a Monk’s Cafe Flemish Sour Ale. Recommend stoping by if you’re in Denver.

The Abita Beer Co (@theabitabeer) from Louisiana showcases their Save Our Shore (SOS) beer at #gabf. Like their Restoration beer that was created to help restore the state after Hurricane Katrina, SOS is the second socially responsible beer from the Abita Springs brewery - helping with Gulf clean-up after the BP incident. In addition to being good fir the community, they’re both solid beers. Talking to them at GABF, they said that they are a part of that community and try to do what they can to help. Since first introduced as a limited run a couple of years ago, Restoration has generated $500K and in just a few weeks, SOS has generated $100K for it’s efforts. Pick up a six-pack if you can, and help the cause.
